Apps

Apps built on the protocols.

One product, four showcase apps and two free public goods. Each showcase app is a full, working app. Its other job is to show a protocol doing real work, so each one names the protocols it uses.

Live
Works today for anyone.
In testing
Works end to end. Expect changes.

The product

ochk.app

In testing

One account, with Bitcoin behind it.

Sign in · Back it · Get paid · Own it.

Sign in with email, Google, GitHub or a Bitcoin wallet. Back your account with one coin that stays in your wallet, so apps can let in only backed accounts. Apps that choose to can pay you in sats, with a receipt anyone can check.

Uses
OC Attest. Backing your account uses OC Attest’s one-coin, one-account format, and apps see only “at least N sats, held at least D days”, never the coin. Receipts are anchored to Bitcoin through the same OpenTimestamps calendars and code as OC Stamp. They are not stamps: orangecheck signs them with its receipt key.
Status
  • Signing in and backing your account: work today.
  • Getting paid: in testing. No sats move yet.
  • Custody: while ochk.app is in testing, orangecheck holds what you earn, custodian included. Independent federations, and then your own keys, replace it. Every role and who holds it: ochk.app/custody (opens in a new tab).
  • Moving to your own keys: not open yet.
  • No KYC: the design. In testing, because testing checks it still holds once payouts run.
For developers
Signing people in is free. Apps that pay their users pay a fixed 20% platform fee on those events. Start at ochk.app/integrate/quickstart (opens in a new tab).

Showcase apps

Working apps that show a protocol at work.

vault.ochk.io

Live

A password manager that can’t read your data.

Every entry is encrypted in your browser under a vault key that only your passphrase unlocks. orangecheck stores ciphertext and nothing that opens it. Keep it in your browser for free, or pay for cloud sync.

Uses
OC Lock, its self-vault pattern: OC Lock’s encryption package for every entry and its device-key package for each browser. Entries are not yet wrapped as full OC Lock envelopes.
Pays in
Sats, on-chain. Cloud sync is a prepaid period, from 7,000 sats for 30 days. No card, no auto-renew. Payments go to a watch-only wallet, so the server that takes them holds no key that can spend them.

chat.ochk.io

In testing

Your Bitcoin address is your inbox.

An end-to-end encrypted messenger. No phone number. Messages open only on your devices.

Uses
OC Lock. OC Chat is a mode of OC Lock, with its own spec (opens in a new tab). Three ways to send: speak-now, everyday messages, free; pay-to-reach, where a stranger attaches a small Lightning payment that goes from their wallet straight to your own Lightning address, with orangecheck not in the payment path; and seal-til-block, a message that opens after a future Bitcoin block. A named public beacon, drand, enforces the release, not Bitcoin itself.
Two kinds of sender
Sign in with a Bitcoin wallet and your messages verify against your address, with no one to trust. Sign in with email, Google or GitHub and your messages are vouched for by ochk.io, the sign-in host, so the app marks them “via ochk.io”.
Closed for now
The paid Personal plan, while orangecheck’s Lightning node is off.

cosign.ochk.io

In testing

Get behind builders.

Bitcoiners post what they are building and what they need: a co-founder, capital, or both. Others cosign it: join as a co-founder, or back it as a patron. A cosign is support, never a multisig.

Uses
Your orangecheck account to sign in. A BIP-322 signature from your Bitcoin address earns an optional verified badge, and founders sign each project as its author. This is the same signing step that OC Attest is built on, not an OC Attest proof.
Money
Any backing goes from the backer’s wallet straight to the founder’s own Lightning address. OC Cosign never holds a sat. Backing is patronage, not equity.

me-demo.ochk.io

Live

Lumen Notes, a made-up newsletter that adds orangecheck sign-in.

orangecheck built it the way an outside app would: its own design, its own pages, and the ochk.app sign-in from @orangecheck/me-client. The sign-in is real and lands a real session. The sats are illustrative: it fires no events and moves no sats.

Uses
The ochk.app account, as a developer adds it.

Free public goods

Nothing to buy, nothing to sign.

No account needed for the basics. Neither uses a protocol. Both read Bitcoin’s public state and name every source.

globe.ochk.io

Live

The whole Bitcoin network, in one living world.

A read-only 3D view of Lightning nodes by country, every new block, the mempool and the hashrate. Every number comes from mempool.space’s public API, read straight from your browser.

btc.ochk.io

Live

Bitcoin, read in plain English.

A free, read-only desk: valuation, macro, on-chain, network and derivatives, each scored and explained in a sentence. The overview and the data API are open to everyone, no key. A free orangecheck account unlocks the full desk. Not financial advice.

Which protocol shows up where

Every protocol also has free tools at its own site.
