Function: normalizeEmail()

TypeScript
function normalizeEmail(raw: string): string;

Defined in: identifiers.ts:26 (opens in a new tab)

The form an email address is stored, hashed and looked up in: trimmed of surrounding whitespace, then lower-cased. Every sign-in code, linked address and Connect claim uses it, so a change here moves every stored lookup. Lower-casing follows the runtime's Unicode version: a letter cased only in a newer Unicode lowers here before it does in an older Node or Python.
