TypeScript
function normalizeAddress(input: string): string | null;

Defined in: index.ts:300 (opens in a new tab)

The canonical spelling of an address a person typed or scanned: surrounding whitespace dropped, bech32 lowercased (QR codes carry it in capitals, which BIP-173 allows), base58 unchanged. Null when the result is not an address decodeAddress reads, mixed-case bech32 included. Store, key and compare addresses in this form only.
